Lifetime Television
Lifetime Television moved its technical facilities from Astoria, Queens to the Port Authority Building in the Chelsea section of Manhattan. Eager to add some nature and softness to a state-of-the-art facility packed with computers and satellite controls, Lifetime hired The Alpha Workshops to design and build two installations as well as to apply decorative finishes to several walls. Now, when editors and technicians walk to their offices, they pass three 8-foot-tall hand-carved and gilded wooden leaves and a mosaic of reverse-painted glass that represent the movement of flowing water.
